Got a sneak preview of the new Hope Women’s Center yesterday and all I can say is, WOW! God is awesome!
February 2021. Texas experienced an unusual snowcropolis throughout the state. Below freezing temperatures paved the way of catastrophe for thousands of homes and businesses and Hope Women’s Center was among those unfortunate losses.
I remember seeing the destruction of the clinic and wondering why. I remember the tears of the committed staff. I remember hauling out damaged furniture, equipment and ruin of this destroyed building. I remember praying with the broken-hearted staff and team feeling less than hopeless and uncertain for their future.
The loss, confusion, sadness and brokenness of the dedicated workers of the clinic was crushing. They had no idea what God was up to. They had no idea that our giant God was going to do giant things. They had no idea that behind the scenes, under the dust of damage, our God was already scheming wildly and His plan was already in motion. His plan to bring beauty from ashes, and glory from destruction was well underway.
It is truly amazing how whenever the enemy sets out against us, bent on his sick destruction, the Mighty, Powerful Lord is right there ready to work it out for His glory. He’s not just an active participant in our lives He’s the driving force, when we are completely surrendered.
Life. Hope Women’s Center is about just that, life and hope; something the enemy hates and works tirelessly to destroy. Oh he was so satisfied that sad day when the clinic was completely destroyed and covered in ruin. He was ecstatic because he thought he had victory.
Fast forward. Next month marks a year since this destruction. What God has done is unbelievable. There’s a new Hope Women’s Center emerging and its in the final stages. A brand new building with newer, better, and more sophisticated equipment. On-site adoption and counseling services meeting so many folks walking and living in brokenness. And this is just a few of the incredible newness provided by our God. The fingerprints of Jesus are all over this building and everything happening in and outside. Hope is restored.
You can’t put new wine into old wine skins; that’s not how our God does things. He makes a new. He makes a better. He makes a fresh. He makes streams in the desert and rivers in the wasteland. That’s our God. The center wasn’t big enough and didn’t have the capacity to do what He needed to get done. So He made something new. And along the way He increased faith and turned hearts towards Him.
Because of His almighty greatness, thousands of unwanted pregnancies will be saved. The lover and giver of life is also a roaring lion fighting for life. This truly is a mighty comeback.
Thank you Holly Wall Snell and Aaron Snell for the amazing tour! I am so proud of our friends for pressing in and pressing hard when everything around them said let go. I am so proud of them for their example. I am grateful to have folks like these, two pillars in the community in my life and as friends.
Can’t wait for the grand opening! And, you won’t want to miss these two when they come speak at Redemption Point Alliance Church on Sunday March 5, 2022 to hear the story of hope and life.
