The only way to recognize lies is to know the truth. The Word of God is Truth, the only Absolute Truth.
The Scriptures warn us that our enemy, Satan, masquerades as an Angel of light. He disguises himself as good and truth. He creates confusion and chaos and as a result, so many wander off into permanent states of delusion because they don’t know and understand Truth.
Then there are those that want to change the Scriptures, you know, modify them to fit a rapidly changing culture. They cherry pick what they want to live by and discard what doesn’t fit their lifestyle. They are comforted with lies that are leading them to hell.
They welcome the idea of heaven and eternal life, but the prospect of hell is not something they embrace. Hell is only reserved for the evil, the vile, those who have done the most despicable. They forget, or never understood that the blood of Christ is rich in forgiveness for all who call on His name and choose to follow Him.
New churches are emerging that cater to a people that want their ears tickled. They want approval for lifestyles that run contrary to the Scriptures while demanding assurance of salvation. Pastors take the pulpit and become very dogmatic about “sensitive” issues. It’s tragic. Repentance is becoming a word for the radical instead of the Way to salvation.
Truth. Here’s truth. The blood of Christ is limitless. It covers every sin, shortcoming, crime, struggle, or whatever transgression exists. Yes, God has a standard. But not one of us has or will ever master His requirement. Mother Theresa is on the same playing field all of us.
You can’t get it all right and then come Him. You’re incapable. Getting it right, conquering your habit or mastering your struggle before surrendering your heart only leads to many more dark days. It just doesn’t work that way.
But you can repent. You can turn away. You can say I’m done being a slave to a corrupt world that is rapidly changing and oh so confusing.
Surrendering to Jesus means just that, surrendering your life to Him. You can still experience emotions and feelings that are confusing but now you are no longer a slave to those. Surrender means follow Christ.
Surrendering means allowing Him to work on your heart changing you and transforming you from the inside out. Surrendering means letting go of your way of thinking and believing and allowing His Truth to rule. Surrendering means not allowing feelings to dictate your choices but rather trust in the Holy Spirit’s leading.
I won’t guarantee an easy life because the Scripture doesn’t promise that. And I can’t say that your struggles and issues will magically disappear. What I can assure is clarity, strength, hope, and freedom. Freedom from the lies of the one masquerading as truth.
The Scriptures of God have stood the test of time for thousands of years. And they will remain long after all this is gone. The Way to heaven is only through the blood of Jesus. Don’t put your hope and trust in a broken world where truth is fluid. Leave it at the feet of Jesus and follow the Way, the Truth and the Light.
