Our souls are obligated to God every day of our life, yet we don’t live that way. We live our lives in preparation for a better day, week, year on a planet destined for destruction. We are guaranteed death and the tightest grip on this world won’t allow you to escape. We invest in all the wrong places.
Our covetousness and pursuit for more, and better has led to neglect of what matters. Our eyes are on the wrong prize. Our drive is exhausting and defeating, and yet, we our grip tightens.
The cycle continues. Our gaze is replaced with too many glances of the meaningless as we are easily consumed with the illusion of this world. We’ve been swept away by the counterfeit idea of momentary satisfactions.
One day, the obligation will cease and our souls will be required. The investment in our soul will be determined and our final destination sealed. Our investments in this life and in our soul will either burn or prevail. And just like that, all the longing, and yearning will be seen for what it was, wasted life.
This world and everything in it is slipping away. We are all on that same course headed towards the end. But the end is really the beginning, and depending on how much you’ve considered your soul, will determine your true and final treasure.
Hold loosely to the things of this world. Release your grip on what will soon pass away. Stop holding onto what you can’t take with you and put your obligation in the soul that will one day be required of you.
