All of my life my dad has been a jokester. He’s got a quirky sense of humor that sometimes only makes sense to him. He’s fun and always has been. He’s a giver. He gives his time his and energy to the church for whatever is needed. He’s generous to those in need and will help anybody. He’s a veteran that served his country proudly and taught us to love and respect the
privilege of being born in the United States. He never complains, even when life throws a curve ball, you won’t hear a complaint ever coming from him.
Yep that’s my dad! He was so young there! He’s old now he’s 85 today. But he doesn’t seem like he’s 85 he seems much younger. Maybe it’s his crazy sense of humor that keeps us laughing all the time. Maybe it’s his drive to stay fit by riding his bike 12 miles a day. He’s silly. Yea, at 85, he’s silly and doesn’t sweat the little things in life. He loves his desserts and isn’t ashamed to show it. I don’t know but I guess I never have thought of my dad as old. He’s a young soul. To sum him up he simply loves life, with all its twists and turns. He savers and treasures every moment, good or bad; they are nuggets he has learned from and has grown in wisdom and faith.
My dad teaches me by way of his character. He’s always had the upmost integrity. He is responsible, hard-working, diligent, but most of all he loves Jesus. He’s full of joy. He continues to grow in faith. That’s my dad in a nutshell.
Happy 85th birthday dad!
