2 Peter 3:3-6 Above all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. They will say, “Where is this ‘coming’ he promised?
People who mock Bible prophecy are actually fulfilling Bible prophecy.
Almost 1/3 of the Bible is prophetic, and it is also the most untouched portions of Scripture for churches. For whatever reasons, many churches don’t want to preach on the end time prophecies. But when that is not preached, the whole of the Bible is not taught, and people are in the dark.
So much Bible prophecy has been fulfilled. It is easy to believe in those, because they’ve come to pass. The rest of the prophecies will and are coming to pass and we are bearing witness to that this day.
The Old and New Testament prophesied what is unfolding right before our very eyes. God knew all of this would happen in our lifetime! He purposed for us to be born at this time in history, for such a time as this. But just because He purposed it, doesn’t mean we all will respond to it.
God also knew that people would scoff, they’d wander off into delusions, they’d put their hope in all the wrong places. They’d search for anything other than God, who is the Truth. Although it breaks His heart, He never forces anyone into relationship with Him, that is our choice.
It’s exciting! It’s also a little unsettling but it is mostly amazing. This story of mankind was written long ago and now we are approaching the end. How do I know? I read about it in the only reliable source, the Word of God.
God is the the bookends to this powerful story. He was there at the beginning and He is there at the end and He is right here with us as we walk through it.
And you need Him. Because it doesn’t matter how much money you have or your amazing IQ. You can have all the titles and degrees in the world and be a well-known and adored by many. None of that will save you. It may buy you some time and comfort, but it won’t save you. As you can see by now, having control of anything, is just an illusion.
This story will end. Will it end happily for you? Well, that is entirely up to you and where your hope, trust, faith and love are anchored, and if it is not in Jesus Christ then the ending is truly grim.
I marvel at what is coming to pass. I sit in awe as His words are jumping off the pages and into our reality. It drives me to my knees and causes me to draw nearer.
My plea for people is to stop putting your hope, trust, expectations and confidence in anything other than Jesus Christ.
Revelation 3:20 Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.
Friend, you have a personal invitation from Jesus Christ Himself. You also have an invitation from the world. Choose wisely. And join us when those trumpets blast!
