Painful trials become our badges of honor. There is no way we can become vessels of mercy if we escape the fire of affliction, because it is in that fire that the world melts away leaving only us and Jesus. Then, and only then, we experience unmerited grace.
Affliction – whether created by our own sin or bestowed upon us by the recklessness of others – is where we can be changed from glory to glory. It is theses opportune moments that take the weak and make them strong and turns the insecure into a valor.
There is a tug of war for the soul that is happening and the grips tighten during our affliction. The enemy longs to arouse anger in an effort to push us from Jesus. But God, He is fighting with unrelenting love and passion for the hearts of the broken, discarded and beaten down.
Painful affliction may not pass the way we want it to but when we willingly step into it, the refining fire of Jesus, He does his finest work. We become jewels on His crown and vessels of His mercy.
Jesus has you broken-hearted and wounded warrior. He is with you in the fire.
