It’s an amazing comfort when you truly understand, that fighting for you is the Lion of Judah, the Hound of Heaven who is unrelentingly fierce for you, and never tires.
We fail, we fall, and our weariness turns to discouragement and dispair. And at the brink of hopelessness when there is nothing left of ourselves He says, “The Lord will fight for you, you need only to be still.”
But we are human and it is in those raw moments of trial and struggle that our faith often turns cold. That place of security and trust, where hope and joy once prevailed have faded to a distant memory.
The enemy will capitalize his efforts when we are most vulnerable. He will pounce when he sees even a hint of discouragement. He will use these seasons to trap the weary soul and take us down.
He whispers in our ear lies that we shouldn’t entertain. In places of despair and hopelessness he convinces us to build our homes. He uses the struggles and pains and trials of life to get us to take up residence in places we have not business living. Sure, in this life we will most definitely pass through deserts of darkness, but we can’t pitch a tent and live in a territory that we have been rescued from.
My friend, today, not for a moment, don’t lose heart. Don’t allow the false appeal of forsaking the truth to bring a temporary satisfaction. Step into faith, the unseen realm where the power of heavenly forces brings holy healing to the broken heart. He doesn’t sit idly on His throne watching your despair. His roar is mighty and His heartbeat is for you. Muster a seed of faith and hang on.
