As of today, June 12, 2022, we still have the freedom to get up and go to church. One day, this simple post will pop up as a pleasant memory on my feed. Because one day, that freedom will be gone, or purposely regulated in a way that caters to a culture who is hardened to the truth of God.
As of today, June 12, 2022, the Bible remains the number one best seller. It is known as the Truth, and the Way. We may not become like China where Bibles have to be smuggled in and delivered in secrecy but then again, we may. If you follow legislation, you will see that we are quickly moving in that direction. People don’t like to hear that, it’s fear mongering they say. But nonetheless, it is true.
We may end up like Canada and many other countries that have now banned particular scriptures and teachings as controversial or considered hate speech, rather than the Truth.
It is coming and will arrive, and most folks will willingly surrender whatever needs to surrendered for a piece of comfort in a world that will soon pass away.
What a sad shame that so many are anchored to a broken foundation, tethered on unsustainable ground, and comfortable rejecting Truth. They willingly live in a delusion not recognizing the deception that has hypnotized them into a lie.
Freedom is this amazing blessing that many will never know. Freedom is good. But freedom can also create recklessness. Freedom allows us to easily take for granted the ability to go to church and learn and grow in our faith in Jesus Christ. Freedom allows us to forsake the assembling with one another to stay cozy in our bed. Freedom paves the way for flimsy excuses to reject the commands of God and embrace our own desires.
We will one day stand before our Maker. We will give an account for everything. We will also give an account for how we exercised our liberties. I wonder the face of God when He calls us to respond. The problem is, we think we know. Pride.
God is not calling us to be soft, He is calling for warriors. While there is freedom, pursue Christ with all you have because if you can’t do it when you are free, you certainly won’t do it when you are not….. and that day is coming. This is the day to get prepared.
2 Chronicles 16:9
“For the eyes of the LORD range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him. You have done a foolish thing, and from now on you will be at war.”
