You say I am loved, when I can’t feel a thing……”
Such truth in those lyrics. We’ve all been at those places of existing when it seems we are the least in existence.
The shallowness of our humanness limits our ability to comprehend the love of God. We say it and we receive it on behalf of others but the reality doesn’t seem to penetrate through to our own needy soul.
He is omnipresent so why are we carrying the torch of abandonment? Why are we numb to His love? Somehow, and in some simple yet mighty way, we begin to drift. We slowly inch away from the hand that has covered and sheltered us. We stop recognizing His continual position in our lives. Through circumstance or choice we become ensnared and captured by the dysfunctions of the world and overtime, we are lost.
I don’t believe Jesus whispers “you are loved” I believe He shouts with a determination to bring healing and restoration to the distorted mind. He’s a God of clarity not chaos and desires to take our chaotic life and return it to order.
Romans 8:38 cannot be challenged. It is direct. It leaves no room for the uniqueness of the broken man’s story. It is impossible to be separated from His love. It is impossible to be “thee” person that has managed to become the exception to the rule. Nothing separates us from His love that flows freely and powerfully.
Even as we inch away, slowly removing ourselves from the security of His hand, we can’t be removed from His love. We are His treasures in His chest. Diamonds in the rough.
In a world where division comes so easy. A place where love, is relative and without understanding. A time when the lines are blurred between fiction and nonfiction, the love of God is irrevocable. His mercy i s transcendent and His faithfulness is endless. But it is up to us to embrace it.
The beauty of Christ is you don’t have to inch your way back. Accept His truth. Embrace His love. You can deny it, fight it, resist and run from it but you can never escape it.
Immerse yourself in the One true love, His love.
